In the early 1980s the householders along that part of Bathurst Walk were concerned about the noise they might suffer if the proposed park and ride/motorway services/new station development were to go ahead on the land north of Iver station. As a result of discussions with the householders and South Bucks District Council, BR agreed to plant a row of cypress trees 1 metre beyond their boundary in June 1984 and cleared/levelled a 2 metre strip in order to do so. They then made up and tarmacked the track up to the ticket office, and have resurfaced it once since then, around 1992. It seems that the extensions of some of the gardens by various lengths across the track took place after this time. |
